A Big Thank You!

As many readers already know, CAMA Woodlands has been fundraising for our very own accessible bus. We started this journey in September 2020, the pandemic showing us how important the need for small freedoms can be. CAMA was already in an odd situation with our address being located in Halton but our physical location being so close to Hamilton. This limits the types of services we can use for transportation and locations we can go to. When we began fundraising we knew it would be a long journey. Accessible buses are close to $100,000 plus we need to ensure we have a reserve for insurance and maintenance on the bus. We knew it would be close to 5 years before we would be able to afford a new bus, but today we got an amazing boost. Thanks to the 100 Women Who Care; Flamborough-Waterdown we are $6,400 closer to our goal! The 100 Women Who Care are a local organization that hears from different local not-for-profits and donate to them in order to help them reach a specific goal.

We are so incredibly grateful to this organization for getting us that much closer to our goal. Without the support of our family members, residents, staff and community we would not be able to fundraise for the "extra" things that make CAMA feel like home.
