Patti Cervoni has been a part of the CAMA family since March 2006, joining the team as an educator for the Nursing Department. In 2009, Patti became the Director of Care and held this position for 6 years before taking on the role of the Executive Director in October 2015.

As Executive Director, Patti is the oversight of the whole home. She prepares and maintains budgets, leads public relations and union negotiations, and supervises all of the department managers.

In her off-time, Patti enjoys gardening, golfing, the Jays, reading, spending time with family and friends, and simply relaxing in her backyard.

Aida Jazavac, RN | Director of Care

Aida joined the CAMA family in September of 2010 as a casual Charge Nurse. She has covered a couple of maternity leaves in the role of Acting Director of Care before officially becoming the Director of Care in September of 2015.

She is in charge of the operation of the Nursing Department, including Registered Staff as well as PSWs. Aida has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Ottawa.

Aida is also a busy mom of two boys. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, golfing, and spending time with her family.

Jennifer Burgess has been a part of the CAMA family since September 2021, joining the team as a Nurse Practitioner and the Medical Services Manager.

As the Medical Services Manager, Jennifer provides direct advanced practice care, leadership, and quality improvement initiatives for the medical care at CAMA Woodlands. She also provides leadership of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) program and clinical skills development for our Nursing Team.

In her off-time, Jennifer enjoys writing, music, knitting, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Emily joined the CAMA family in November 2021 as a Nurse Practitioner and Medical Services Manager. As Medical Services Manager, Emily provides the residents with advanced nursing care in collaboration with the Nursing Team and Medical Director. Other roles include leadership within the IPAC program and facilitating clinical skills development for the Nursing Team.

Emily has always been a passionate advocate for the nursing profession. As a 4th generation Nurse, she is honoured to be working with a team that strives to incorporate the art and science of nursing into all aspects of resident care.

Victoria Robins | Director of Nutritional Services

Victoria has worked with the CAMA family since August 2005. This was her first role as a Dietary Manager. Previous to her start at CAMA, Victoria worked as a Cook/Dietary Aide in a nursing/retirement home in Stoney Creek for 8 years.

Victoria enjoys her role as Dietary Manager, as she gets to interact with the residents and utilize her creative ideas through guiding the Dietary Aides and Cooks with meals and special events. She finds this to be the best of both worlds.

Victoria is a huge sports fan, and when she’s not working, she is usually watching, playing, or attending a sporting event. She enjoys being social with her friends and family. Having moved back to Burlington, she is currently trying to love gardening, a process she thinks may take a while... or at least until her allergy to trees and plants goes away.

Terri Pinder | Director of Environmental Services

Terri Pinder runs the Environmental Department, which includes Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance. In 1990, she started at CAMA in the Housekeeping and Laundry Department before the doors even opened to the original 64-bed home.

As the Director of Environmental Services, Terri oversees all staff in her department, preparing cleaning and working schedules, policies and procedures, orders, etc., as well as supervising our Summer Student Program.

Outside of work, her family is her life—a husband, 3 kids, and 2 grandkids are exhausting but so worth it! She enjoys spending time with her family, as well as baking, playing games, golfing, and long bike rides.

 
Vanessa

Vanessa Arnold | Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Volunteers

Vanessa Arnold joined the CAMA Woodlands family in September 2001. She began as an Activity Aide in the Recreation Department and held that role for 6 years. In 2007, Vanessa was promoted to the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Volunteers.

Vanessa is responsible for a team of 9 Therapeutic Recreation Aides. Some other duties include looking after Resident Trust Accounts, planning events, initiating Residents Council, managing the budget, volunteer management, fundraising, and ensuring each resident’s individual needs are met through daily programming.

Vanessa is married and has two teenage sons. She loves nature and animals. In her spare time, Vanessa enjoys being outdoors, camping, and reading.

Melissa has been with CAMA since January 2012. She started as the Nursing Staff Scheduler/Reception and is now the Director of Human Resources. Her role includes payroll administration, new hire onboarding, benefits administration, and all things IT.

Melissa especially enjoys being a part of the fundraising team at CAMA and planning a variety of staff events. In her spare time, she loves to travel, go to concerts, and swim.

Natalie Levesque | HR Assistant

Natalie Levesque started her journey at CAMA in 2020. She has taken on the position of HR Assistant.

Natalie works closely with Melissa, the Director of HR, to ensure that all staff are supported; when staff feel supported, they are able to perform the highest quality of resident care.

She is a recent Sociology graduate from Carleton University. In her spare time, she enjoys reading a good book, taking pictures, and hiking outdoors.

Rev. Sharlene Henderson joined our CAMA family in 2017 as the Director of Spiritual Care and is responsible for the spiritual care needs of our home. We appreciate Sharlene's warm and caring demeanour, and that she is passionate about extending the love of God to our amazing staff, residents, and their family members.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter Ella. She also loves reading, walking, watching TV, and hanging out with friends.

 

Rev. Craig Summerfield, MA | Spiritual Care Minister

Craig joined the CAMA family in 2024 as the Spiritual Care Minister. He comes to CAMA from many years of pastoral ministry in Hawaii, Colorado, California, and Ontario. Craig is ordained with the Church of the Nazarene Canada and serves with Crown Point Community Church in Hamilton, ON.

In his ‘spare’ time, Craig enjoys spending time with family (wife, daughter, and two cats), playing games (both board and video), reading, studying, and writing. He is also currently working on a Doctor of Ministry degree and teaches college classes for those seeking ordination in the Church of the Nazarene.

Jenaya Langman | Spiritual Care Minister

Jenaya Langman started working at CAMA as a summer student in 2019 and is excited to have joined the team full-time in January 2025 as a Spiritual Care Minister in the home.

Jenaya loves working with residents, co-workers, and families. She's an "old soul" whose cheerful smile, calm demeanor, and love for people make her a great asset to the CAMA team.

Outside of work, Jenaya enjoys being with family and friends, getting out for long walks, and playing or listening to music.

Margaret Sawyer | Receptionist

Margaret has worked in long term care since 2005 and joined CAMA Woodlands during our expansion in 2014. As our Receptionist, she enjoys meeting new residents and families. 

Margaret is also our Billing Coordinator—if you have any financial concerns, she is the one to talk to!

In her spare time, she loves reading on her porch, watching movies, gardening, and spending time with her three sons.

Jessica Moore | Manager of Special Projects

Jessica Moore has been a part of CAMA since 2007. She started out her career as a Personal Support Worker, then after 9 years, moved into the role of Staffing Coordinator.

Her responsibilities include scheduling for the Nursing Department, orientation for new employees, and fundraising. Jessica is very sociable and gets along well with our staff, which makes her perfect for this role.

In her spare time, Jessica enjoys making wine, walking her dog, and playing video games (with or without children). She also likes visiting many local parks around the area, as she is a great adventurer.

Kristina McLean | Staffing Coordinator

Kristina joined the CAMA team in 2012 as a Personal Support Worker and has now moved into the role of Staffing Coordinator.

Darlene Birball started her journey at CAMA in 2008, working as a casual nurse before becoming full-time in 2011. Darlene was promoted to the role of Clinical Manager in 2016 and works closely with Aida, the Director of Care, overseeing the Nursing Department to ensure our residents receive the care they deserve.

Some of Darlene’s other roles include organizing education and helping new residents and their families through the process of moving into our home.

When Darlene is not at CAMA, she enjoys reading, going to the movies, and spending time with her family.

Melina Marin, PSW | PSW Manager

Melina joined the CAMA family in April of 2023 as the Education Coordinator. In September of 2023, her role expanded into the PSW Manager. Her role is to manage and oversee the parts and operations of the Nursing Department that the PSWs perform.

Melina has always been passionate about advocating for residents’ rights and enjoys listening to her residents’ life stories.

Outside of CAMA, Melina spends a lot of her time hiking. She loves to read and spend time with her family.

As the Education Coordinator since February 2024 and a proud member of the CAMA team since 2017, she brings over 35 years of nursing experience to her role, having previously served as CAMA's wound care nurse.

Outside of her professional life, she is a devoted mother to two beautiful grown daughters and has a deep love for her dogs, who bring immense joy to her life.

In her spare time, she enjoys motorcycling with her husband, watching sports, and listening to country music.

Brenda Latka | Health Promoter

Brenda has worked in the therapeutic recreation field in long term care since 2010. She joined the CAMA family during the expansion in 2014.

As a Recreation Therapist, Brenda spent her time on the Evergreen home area. She used her positive attitude to design leisure activities to help residents with specific health conditions improve their skills, abilities, overall health, and emotional well-being.

Brenda is a huge sports/music fan, and when she is not working, she is usually playing/watching/attending an event. She currently plays pickleball, rides her e-bike, and is looking forward to hockey season. GO LEAFS GO!
